    1.Brief Introduction To S45C Linear Guide Bar

    Guide rods are slender structural units used to provide free motion in one direction. Commonly, the product surface is processed by hard chromium plating technology, and then it is mirror polished, with characteristics of friction resistance and corrosion resistance. 

    Tie rods are often used in steel structures, such as bridges, industrial buildings, tanks, towers, and cranes. In automobiles, the tie rods are part of the steering mechanism. They differ from the archetypal tie rod by both pushing and pulling (operating in both tension and compression). In ships, tie rods are bolts which keep the whole engine structure under compression. They provide for fatigue strength. They also provide for proper running gear alignment which prevents fretting. They help to reduce the bending stress being transmitted to the transverse girder.

    3.Heat treatment methods of S45C guide bar

    Induction hardening: it is a form of heat treatment in which a metal part is heated by induction heating and then quenched. The quenched metal undergoes a martensitic transformation, increasing the hardness and brittleness of the part. Induction hardening is used to selectively harden areas of a part or assembly without affecting the properties of the part as a whole. The hardening depth is 1.5-5mm; medium/low-frequency quenching may lead to excessive depth and negative effect on strength; high-frequency quenching generally result in a shallow depth, and may ensure the balance of hardness and strength.

    Quenching and high-temperature tempering: Generally, the heat treatment method combined of quenching and high-temperature tempering is called thermal refining, which is widely applied to various important structural parts, especially the connecting rods, bolts, gears and shafts working under alternating load. The tempered sorbite has better mechanical property than normalized sorbite of the same hardness. Its hardness depends on tempering temperature and relates to stability of tempering and sectional dimension of workpiece, and is generally HB200-350.

    Induction hardened with Q&T: After induction hardening with Q&T, the piston rods could not only obtain greater mechanical properties, but also achieve a greater resistance to damage from external impact.

    5.S45C linear guide rod characteristics

    The product is processed by peeling, stress relief, repeated straightening, repeated grinding and polishing. Technical indices: (hardening layer 10% of diameter), (chrome coating thickness 0.03), (diameter tolerance: below 0.005/m), (ovality: below 0.005/m), (straightness below 0.02/m), (finish over 0.2).

    a.Slide can be bolted at the top and bottom;

    b. As two bolt holes are designed in the middle of slide for additional fixing, the resistance to lifting load and lateral load is improved;

    c. The threaded hole in the end surface is used for all mounting pieces;

    d. High rigidity in all loading directions—single slide can be used independently;

    g.Ideal rollway inlet dimensions and large quantity of balls enable little elastic wave;
